2015 Walla Walla Balloon Stampede

The Walla Walla Balloon Stampede is here! This is the 41st Balloon Stampede. The Stampede will be held at Howard Tietan Park in Walla Walla. Don't miss this once a year phenomenon. There will be over 30 balloons present.

The Balloon Stampede runs from October 14-18th with inflation of the balloons beginning at 7:15 a.m. each day.

Oct. 14 is Kid's Day. The balloons stay on the ground and kids get a chance to float in the basket for a panoramic view of the city.

Oct. 15 is Media Day. This is a chance for the media to capture the sights and sounds of the Balloon Stampede. Watch the sky as there will be lots of balloons overhead all day long.

Oct. 16 is the first all fly day where all 30+ pilots and balloons will be up in the air! Friday will also play host to the Nite Glow Spectacular! This is a gorgeous, nighttime event where select balloons stay on the ground and light up. It is considered to be the Balloon Stampede's signature display and shows the balloons in a whole new light.

Oct. 17 is the Mayor's Cup Launch. Pilots must put their navigational skills to the test by having to fly to a location, which is difficult because balloons cannot be steered left or right.

Oct. 18 is the Great Launch. This never before attempted (in Walla Walla) launch will include all 30+ balloons launching together in just 30 seconds. The launch begins at 6:00 a.m. and even though it's early it will be a sight to see.
