Day 238: Frenchtown Historic Site Grand Opening

The Frenchtown Historic Site grand opening is being held Saturday, July 9th. The site is located eight miles west of Walla Walla on Old Highway 12. The area was originally settled by French Canadian employees of the North West Company, the Husdon’s Bay Company and their Indian wives. The public event on July 9th will begin at 12:30pm with a guided tour of the site. Following the guided tour a representative of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation will deliver an invocation and introductory remarks. Living history presentations will begin at 1:15.


The Frenchtown site is open from sunrise to sunset, seven days per week. There is no admission fee. For more information on the Frenchtown Historic Site and it’s grand opening see www.frenchtownpartners.org,
