As soon as you step through the door at Ceremonial Wool
everywhere you look there are incredible designs, vibrant hues, and Native
American elements. This shop is full of beautiful handcrafted items and well
made woolen products. This is a shop that offers a little bit of everything.
Ceremonial Wool is an authorized dealer for Pendleton Wool
products, Woolrich, Blue Sky Alpaca, Sister Sky Lotions, and Footwear by Foot Skins. Products at the shop are chosen with care for their natural elements,
artisan qualities, or uniqueness to the area.
Ceremonial Wool carries a wide variety of products. Their
consciousness about where their products are made is clear. The majority of
products at Ceremonial Wool are made in the United States and most of those
products are made in the Pacific Northwest.
They have yarn, high quality beads, jewelry, and clothing.
Ceremonial Wool also specializes in Native American items such as moccasins,
smudging equipment, lotion, baby boards, and more. They also have hats,
blankets, bags, purses, clothing, and even bedding made by the Pendleton Woolen
Mills. There are local products as well! The store carries several different
yarns and roving from local farms and is planning to expand to include products
from all stages of the wool production process.
When I asked the owners what the most interesting item in the
shop is they said either the beautiful feather door blessings by Lee Perkins or
the handmade baby boards that they carry. The baby boards are made by a man in
Yakima and can be custom made!
Ceremonial Wool is located at 2200 Melrose St. next to the
Modern Restaurant in Walla Walla. Their hours are Monday-Friday from
10:00-6:00, Saturday from 10:00-4:00, and Sunday from 11:00-3:00.
Check out their Facebook page here for more information.
