Tales from the Forgotten Kingdom: A Concert

The Gesa Power House Theatre presents "Tales from the Forgotten Kingdom" a concert featuring stories set to music that are rooted in lore and strengthened by tradition.

Prepare to be transported to a by-gone age with fantastic yarns passed down through the Ladino tradition. These songs and stories of romantic escapades, and derring-do were carried by the Shephardic Jews as they settled along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Guy Mendilow and his four musical collaborators compiled these historical stories and musical pieces from into a unique blend that transports the listener.

The intertwined music and stories that comprise "Tales from the Forgotten Kingdom" have been revitalized to render these songs with all of their depth, drama, and color. The tales twist and turn and are written as modals that include elements of foxtrots, tangos, and other 20th century tunes combined with strong percussion and detailed soundscapes.

"Tales from the Forgotten Kingdom" will be performed on September 26th at 7:30 p.m. at the Gesa Power House Theatre which is located at 111 N. 6th Ave. in Walla Walla. Tickets are $18-$15 for adults and $5 for students.
