The Blue Mountain Cider Company is a local business that started over 10 years ago. The business has grown substantially and has received multiple national and international awards for their cider. They are having a tour and tasting event as part of the Learning on the Land series.
Blue Mountain Cider Company is family operated and continues its tradition of environmental stewardship while trying new fruits for cider making.
The tour begins with a walk through the heritage orchard planted by Earl Brown nearly 40 years ago. The tour will showcase the recently added 30 acres of 24 varietal apples while learning about orcharding and harvesting.
The tour continues with a walk through of the cidery where the fruit is crushed, fermented, and bottled. The tour ends with a sampling of local, award-winning cider. The Blue Mountain Cider Company produces over 12 varieties of cider.
The tour is on Saturday July 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Blue Mountain Cider Company which is located at 235 E. Broadway Ave. in Milton-Freewater OR. This event is open to everyone.
