Sweet Onion Festival

The Walla Walla Sweet Onion Festival is back and better than ever! 

The Sweet Onion festival is always a great way to herald the arrival of summer. This year's festival is going to have amazing vendors, delicious food, live entertainment, a Kid's Zone, Farmer's Market, a beer and wine garden, and sweet onions on everything- of course! The festival has some tasty new comers as well.

The Walla Walla Sweet Onion Festival is located in Downtown Walla Walla and will be on June 20th and 21st. 

This year is the inaugural year of the Sweet Onion BBQ Bash. Contestants will compete all weekend long for prizes, cash, and points to take them to the national barbecue competition in Texas. The BBQ Bash contestants will be located between 3rd and 4th Ave. and will be offering samples of their Sweet Onion inspired BBQ to those who purchase tokens. They will also be sharing BBQ tips and tricks. Winners will be determined Sunday afternoon. 

There will also be a 5k "Funion Runion" fun run or walk to kick off the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Festival. The run begins at Baker Boyer Plaza on 3rd Ave and Main St. at 9:00 a.m. and runs through downtown finishing at the Downtown Farmer's Market area. 

Registration is online and located at www.sweetonions.org or by calling 525-1031. You can also sign up starting at 8:00 a.m. the morning of the race. Registration costs $10.00 and secures you a prize upon completion.
