Chuck Close Artist Film
"Chuck Close: A Portrait in Progress" is a captivating film about Chuck Close, a well known painter, and the evolution of his unique style. The film follows Close as he enters New York's contemporary art community.
Close had his first art exhibit in 1969, of black and white portraits, and has been exhibiting ever since. His paintings fascinate the public. He works largely from instant photographs and paints in a style that shifts between representation and abstraction. His colossal heads are mesmerizing because of their energy and mosaic-like surfaces.
The film will be shown Thursday July 16th at 8 p.m. at the Powerhouse Theatre which is located at 111 N. 6th Ave. in Walla Walla. This film is 57 minutes long and is free!
