The Walla Walla VA Medical Center's 5th Annual VA2K Walk is tomorrow. Grab your walking shoes and head over to the VA for a stroll around their peaceful grounds while showing support for the veterans who proudly protect our country.
The distance is short, only 1.2 miles, around the VA's parade grounds. The goal is to get fit and support homeless Veterans with donations. Donations of cleaning items, phone cards, sleeping bags, backpacks, shaving cream, and other essentials are encouraged.
You can also visit
"get fit" stations around the 1.2 mile course. These include yoga, tai chi, and Jazzercise. The Blue
Mountain Humane Society, the Walla Walla Vet Center, the Army Corps of Engineer, a Veteran Service Officer, and more will also be there with information. There are raffle prizes and water will be provided.
This year's VA2K is on May 20th (tomorrow!) from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The VA is located at 77 Wainwright Dr. in Walla Walla. Don't miss this opportunity to encourage our local veterans.
