Jefferson Pond Stocked!

The pond at Jefferson park has been stocked with fish! This is a fantastic place to teach children the joy of fishing, being outdoors, and learning new skills. It is free, conveniently located (just off of 9th St.), and is fun for the whole family.

Jefferson Park pond has just been stocked with 500 Rainbow Trout and 50 Jumbo Trout by the Lyons Ferry Fish Hatchery on March 11th. The pond will be stocked again with the same number of fish on March 23rd. After that the pond will be stocked one or two more times by the Tucannon Hatchery.

The Jefferson Park pond is a juvenile fishing area, which means that youths 14 and younger can fish there. No permit is required. Adults are allowed to help bait hooks and remove fish from the hook, but they are not allowed to hold the pole for the child or cast the line into the water. Fishing is allowed between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. No boats or floating devices are allowed on the pond.

Jefferson Park is located at 750 Sprague in Walla Walla.
