February is for Foodies

February is for Foodies kicked off yesterday and runs through the month of February. This is an annual event that brings out the food lover in all of us. This event emphasizes the variety of food that Walla Walla has to offer and pairs delicious dishes with local wines. There are lots of fun opportunities to experience Walla Walla food in a new way during February.

Several restaurants are providing new menu options for the event. These include Jacobi's, Fat Duck Inn, Maple Counter, The Marc, Salumiere Cesario, T. Maccarone's, and Vineyard Lounge at the Marcus Whitman Hotel.  Olive is celebrating February is for Foodies with a 3 course truffle and wine flight, and Brasserie Four and Saffron have altered pricing for the event.

Twelve wineries are offering special tasting options, discounts, and chocolate and wine pairings. The participating wineries are: Adamant Cellars, Charles Smith Wines, Dunham Cellars, L'Ecole No. 41, Northstar Winery, Spring Valley Vineyard, Three Rivers Winery, Trio Vintners, Walla Walla Vintners, Waterbrook, Woodward Canyon, and Zerba Cellars.

There will also be cooking classes by the Walla Walla Community College, the Marcus Whitman, Courtyard Marriot, and Andrae's Kitchen

There are discounts at many of the lodging establishments in town and on airfare.

The Blue Mountain Audubon Society will be hosting two wildlife safaris at McNary Wildlife Refuge. These tours will focus on the waterfowl in t
he area.
