Walla Walla Exchange Club 54th Annual Children's Easter Egg Hunt

The Walla Walla Exchange Club is hosting it's 54th Annual Children's Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday, March 30. The egg hunt is free to the public. It is being held at Pioneer Park and begins at 9am. This year the Easter Egg hunt will present 26 prizes, including three bicycles. There will be approximately 40,500 chocolate Easter Eggs given away at the hunt. The age categories are 1-3 years old, 4-6 years old, 7-10 years old and special-needs.
The Walla Walla Exchange Club's mission is prevention of child abuse in Walla Walla Valley. The club sponsors a variety of activities in the community. Their main fundraiser is the Baker Boyer Ducky Derby, which is being held May 18, 2013.

2013 Spring into Summer Walla Walla Home & Outdoor Show

The 2013 Spring into Summer Walla Walla Home & Outdoor Show is being held this weekend, March 22-23, at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds Community Building. The outdoor show is sponsored by Capps Broadcasting Group. Admission to the show is free. There will be a variety of vender's at the show with home, outdoor, and lifestyle products. Vendors featuring kitchen and bath ideas, cabinetry, remodeling, landscaping, spas, and products for the home will be set up in the Community Building. The outdoor show is open 3-7pm on Friday, 9am-6pm on Saturday, and 10am-2pm on Sunday.

Marilyn: Forever Blonde

Marilyn, Forever Blonde is back by popular demand at the Gesa Power House Theatre.  The performance features award-winning actress Sunny Thompson as Marilyn Monroe, who performs with story and song to make a special evening for all who attend. The show runs March 20-30th. There will be a Diamond Studded Dinner prior to the Friday and Saturday performances in the Electric Lounge at the Theatre. Ticket prices are $12 to $50 each. Performances start at 7:30pm. The Friday and Saturday Diamond Studded Dinner starts at 5:30pm and is $30. a person.
The Gesa Power House Theatre is located at 111 N 6th Avenue in Walla Walla. Tickets can be purchased on line at phtww.com.

Patrick Carment visit at Walla Walla Public Library

New York Times Bestselling author Patrick Carmen will be visiting the Walla Walla Public Library Thursday, March 14 and will present his new teen novel, Pulse. Middle School age and up are encouraged to stop by to hear about his newest teen novel along with pizza and prizes.

Catholic Charities/Catholic Schools St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

The Annual Catholic Charities/Catholic Schools St. Patrick’s Day Celebration is coming up on Saturday, March 16 at St. Patrick’s gym in Walla Walla.  Dinner will be served from 4:30-7:30pm. Live entertainment will take place 5-9pm. Both adult and childrens menus will be availabe. The adult menu features traditional irish pasties, chile, coleslaw, pistachio jello salad and cupcakes. Green Irish beverages will be served. The children's menu is corndogs, jello, chips and cupcakes. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling Catholic Charities at 525-0572. Tickets are  $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, $5 for children, $35 for a family, and free for children under 3. All proceeds from the event benefit Catholic Charities of Walla Walla & Walla Walla Catholic Schools.

Fishing at Jefferson Park Pond

Jefferson Park Pond is getting fish delivered the week of March 11th. The pond is designated as a juvenile fishing area only. A permit is not required, but is limited to youth ages 14 and under. The Lyons Ferry Fish Hatchery will be delivering two loads of fish. The second delivery is scheduled for the week of March 28th. Each truck load of fish holds 500 catch able trout and 50 jumbo trout. Adults are allowed to help bait a hook and remove the fish from the hook, but cannot fish, cast the line into the water or hold the pole for a child. Fishing is allowed year round in the daytime hours only from 6am to 9pm. Boats or other floating devices are not allowed on the pond. Only two trout over 13 inches may be retained as part of the five trout daily limit on these ponds. Jefferson Park is located at 9th and Malcom Street in Walla Walla.

Walla Walla LRC Chocolate Festival

The Walla Walla LRC Chocolate Festival is Saturday, March 9th, at the Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center. The festival is a contest for professionals, amateurs, and juniors. It is also a family fun tasting event. Guests will be entertained with chocolate games, prizes, a silent auction, and baking contest. Contestants for the baking contest may enter the baking contest in the following categories:

Restaurant
Bakery
Professional/Chef
Amateur
Showpiece
Junior Baker-Kids 8-14 years of age
Junior Showpiece-Kids 8-14 years of age

All entries must be submitted to the Explorer Ballroom at the Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center between 7 and 9am. Judging will start at 9:15am. WWCC College Rodeo-Riding Against Child Abuse

The WWCC College Rodeo is at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds March 8, 9, and 10. The rodeo will feature the WWCC Warriors as well as bullfighters Rowdy Barry, Ryan Manning, and Ryan Wilson. the Friday night rodeo starts at 7pm. Saturday's events include a cowboy breakfast from 8-11am, a free kids rodeo at 9:30am and a 1:30pm and 7:30pm rodeo. The rodeo finals will be Sunday at noon.
Proceeds from the weekend rodeo benefit WWCC rodeo team and local child abuse prevention programs. Tickets for the rodeo are $7 Adults; $4 children under 12; $4 seniors (65 & over). Tickets can be purchased at Walla Walla's Harvest Foods, Super 1 Foods, New York Store, L & G Ranch Supply and WWCC Bookstore.
