Halloween 2012 Events in Walla Walla
Halloween 2012 is upon us and there are a number of events to keep the goblins busy.
The Walla Walla Downtown Foundation is hosting the annual Walla Walla Downtown Trick or Treat from 3-5 pm. Downtown business's will be handing out candy and will have cross guards on the streets to assist the trick or treaters.
The First Presbyterian Church is having a Harvest Carnival from 3-5pm at the corner of 1st and Birch Street. They will offer old fashioned carnival games for all ages.
The YMCA is open for their annual Halloween Spooktacular from 5:30pm-7:30pm. This event is free to all ages in the community. They will have a Bounce House, Archery Shoot, Cookie Walk, Face Painting, Haunted House, Hoop shoot, S'more Roasting and Trick or Treating.
The Walla Walla Corn Maze is open from dusk to 10pm with their scary version of the corn maze. Participants are asked to bring a flash light. A hot dog and concession stand will be on site. Children 11 years and under need to by accompanied by an adult. The fee is $8/person. The maze is located at 853 Five Mile Road in Walla Walla.
The Walla Walla Sanitarium Haunted House Attraction will be open at 419 Wellington. The non scary version of the haunted house is open 5:30pm until dark. The scary version is open from dark to 11pm. Tickets are $10 each or 5 for $40. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Zumba and Imagination Yoga for Kids
Walla Walla Parks and Recreation is offering Zumba and Imagination Yoga classes for kids in November. The ZumbAtomic class is being held on Wednesdays, November 7, 14, and 28 at 3pm. The class is 45 minutes long. Kids 4-8 years of age will enjoy movement and dance to the sound of Latin rhythms. Classes are instructed by Caite York, a licensed Zumba instructor. The fee for the classes is $19.
Imagination Yoga is offered to kids 3-12 years of age. Jennifer Matson, Certified Imagination Yoga Instructor will take the class on grand adventures as they imagination yoga in a castle, on a farm, in outer space, with dinosaurs and many other exciting endeavors while learning beautiful yoga poses, greater concentration, increased relaxation, and body awareness. Yoga helps the children build strength, balance, and concentration while having fun with their imagination. The classes are on Wednesdays, November 7,14,and 28 from 5:45pm to 6:30pm. The fee for the class is $19.

Blue Mountain Choruse Annual Sweet Applause
The Blue Mountain Sweet Adelines Chorus presents their Annual Show on Friday, October 26th and Saturday, October 27th at 7:30 pm in the Performing Arts Center at Walla Walla Community College. Enjoy an evening of Broadway musical songs, incorporating traditional barbershop four part harmony presented by a community of local talent. The Blue Mountain Chorus of Sweet Adelines International is a women's singing organization that specializes in Barbershop Harmony. The Blue Mountain Chorus members are women of all ages. They meet every Monday evening at 7pm at the Unity Church of Peace at 810 C Street, near the Walla Walla Airport.

Nia Adult Fitness Classes in Walla Walla
Nia Adult Fitness Classes start November 4th, 2012. Nia is designed to improve your coordination, balance, and
spine health. The exercise class is guided by music. With core alignment this exercise helps to relieve pain and prevent future injury's. It also can help you breathe efficiently, move with power, grace and confidence. The first class is free. The classes are instructed by Sarah Grant Sisk, Certified Nia White
Belt instructor; and Marika Tomkins, Certified Nia Blue, Green, and White Belt
instructor. Ages 12 years and up can attend the hour long classes November 4 through December 21. The Wednesday class is 7:45am, Thursday is 11am, Friday at 9am, and Sunday at 9:30am. Classes are held at Carnegie, 109 S. Palouse St. in Walla Walla. Fees for the classes are 7 for $64., 12 for $84., and 21 for $128. Pre-registration is required. Through the Looking Glass at Power House Theatre
The Power House Theatre in Walla Walla presents, Through the Looking Glass, the Burlesque Alice In Wonderland. The creators of this production are Lily Verlaine & Jasper McCann. The have put together a Spectacle of Ecdysiastic Pageantry, A tour de force of glamour, comedy, dance, striptease, and song. Show times are 7pm on October 25, 26, and 27, as well as 10pm on October 27, and 3pm on October 28. A Mad Hatter Dinner Party can be pre-purchased for the October 25, 26, and 27. The pre-show dinner is at 5pm and includes a complimentary glass of wine and the opportunity to meet the performers. The cost for the dinner is $38.00 per person. Pre-registration is required. Beethoveniana Performed by the Walla Walla Symphony
The Walla Walla Symphony will be performing the concert series, Beethoveniana on Tuesday, October 23rd. Maestro Yaacov Bergman will be conducting the all-Beethoven program. The performance will feature the following Beethoven musical pieces:
Overture to Creatures of Prometheus, Piano Concerto No. 5, Op. 73, "Emperor," Mei-Ting Sun, piano, and Symphony No. 8, Op. 93 in F Major. The concert will be at Cordiner Hall on the Whitman College Campus. There will be a free inside the music, 30 minute pre-concert talk at 6:30pm at the Reid Campus Center Ballroom. The musical performance at Cordiner hall begins at 7:30pm. The wine sponsor for the concert is Three Rivers Winery. Ticket prices start at $8. for students and $16. for adults. Blue Mountain Humane Society Fall Furr Ball 2012
The Blue Mountain Humane Society Fall Furr Ball is Saturday, October 20th at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds Pavillion. The annual fund raiser features a dinner, live and silent auction, gambing in their casino, and dancing to the music of the Penrose Lane Band. Tickets are $50. each and includes two bottles of wine for each table of eight guests and a $100. in play money to gamble with. Proceeds from the event will be used to support the Blue Mountain Humane Society's daily shelter operations. For reservations to the event call 509-529-5188.

Bubbles and Baubles Mom's Network Fundraiser
The Mom's Network of Walla Walla is hosting a Bubbles and Baubles fundraiser at Sapolil Cellars on Saturday, October 20th, 2012. The evening is dedicated to fashion and jewels. A number of local jewelers will have jewels for auction and models will be modeling clothing lines from a variety of local stores. The doors open for the event at 7pm with the presentation and auction at 8:30. tickets are $20 each. Ladies will be given a complimentary glass of bubbly. Sapolil Cellars will have a full bar as well as food offering from Bistro 15. Noises Off at Harper Joy Theatre
The October 2012 performance at Harper Joy Theatre in Walla Walla is called Noises Off. This production by Michael Frayn, has often been called the funniest play ever written. The story line is about a mediocre touring company that stages a terrible farce and makes a hilarious entertaining mess of it. With secret affairs, falling trouser and flying sardines, this play is sure to make you laugh. The performances will be October 18-21, at the Alexander Stage located on the Whitman College Campus. Show times are 8pm Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and 2pm on Sunday. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and students. Whitman students are free.

2012 Walla Walla Crush Walk/Run
The 2012 Walla Walla Crush Walk/Run is going to be held Saturday, October 20th. Participants will have the opportunity to partake in a 5K walk/run or a 10K run on a rolling course of paved and dirt roads that loop around and through the vineyards. There will be prizes awarded for male and female winners in seven age group divisions. Over 75 prizes will be given away with random drawings. Prizes include Walla Walla wines, Brooks sports shoe certificates and gift certificates from local businesses.
Proceeds from the event help support the Children's Home Society of Washington to fund the Walla Walla family support services, child and family counseling, early learning programs, early head start, and parenting classes. The fee for the event is $15 for those who pre-register and $20 for those who sign up the day of the event. The Walk/Run starts at 9am at Pepper Bridge Farms off of Peppers Bridge Road in Walla Walla.

Walla Walla Catholic Schools Sausage Fest 2012
The Walla Walla Catholic Schools Sausage Fest is Friday, October 5th, 5pm -midnight, and Saturday, October 6th, 11am-midnight. The festival takes place at DeSales High School. Events will include, Bingo, local entertainment, beer garden, and games for the whole family. At the festival they will be serving, sausages, hamburgers, hot dogs, tamales, salads, and strawberry shortcake. Saturday evening, 8:30pm-11:30pm there will be live music by the Whiskey Creek Band. A Fun Run will take place on Saturday morning starting at 9am. Proceeds from the Sausage Festival will be used to remodel the DeSales High School gymnasium.
