The Grand Fondo 2012 is September 29th in Walla Walla. This "Great Ride" event is held to raise funds for the Providence St. Mary Special Needs Fund. The Grand Fondo events include a 135 mile motorcycle tour, a choice of cycling events, a walk along Mill Creek, horseback riding at Bennington Lake, plus a Oktober Fest Lunch and a wine and food pairing event in downtown Walla Walla with live music from 6:00 to 8:30pm. Walla Walla Corn Maze 2012
The Walla Walla Corn Maze is open for the season! This years design is cube shapes that create a 3-D illusion. The corn maze is open Thursday 6pm-10pm, Friday 6pm-11pm, Saturday 2pm-11pm, and Sunday 4-9pm. Corn Cannons are available during daylight hours. Hot dogs and other concessions are available on site. Guests are encouraged to bring a flashlight if they come in the evening. After October 25th the corn maze will be transformed into a haunted corn maze. The maze is located at 853 Five Mile Road in Walla Walla. To find the maze, follow the signs east on Isaacs Avenue, turn onto Five Mile Road and the property is just one mile up.
The fee to go through the corn maze is $6.00 for ages 12 and over, $4.00 for kids ages 4-11, and free for those 3 and under.

Walla Walla AAUW Kitchen Tour 2012
The American Association of University Women's 10th Annual Kitchen Tour is October 7th from noon to five pm.Eight kitchens will be featured on the tour. Five raffle prizes, including an original painting, Fall Morning Kitchen, by Elizabeth Harris and a Cowboy Cook out dinner for eight at Russell Creek Ranch, will be raffled off to help raise funds at the event. Tickets for the tour are $20. each and may be purchased at Earthlight Books, Bright's Candies & Gifts, and Sweetwater Paper & Home. Tickets also may be purchased the day of the tour at Jacobi's Cafe in Walla Walla. The guide and map for the self- conducted tour will be available from noon-2pm at Jacobi's Cafe the day of the tour. Proceeds from the event will benefit AAUW scholarships and local educational projects.

Paint the Town Pink 2012
September 28th, from noon to 5pm, JUGS is hosting a Paint the Town Pink Party! JUGS, which stands for Just Us Girls, will be offering hair extensions, cotton candy, and face painting. Booths at the event include the Nia Club, Michi Bags, Lotus Clothing, American Cancer Society, the Chocolate Shop, Holly's Flowers, Moxie Organics, Lefore Spa, Four Feathered Sparrow, Auto Dynamics, Macy's, Stone Soup, Tallest Poppy, and the official J.U.G.S Store. The Paint the Town Pink Party is being held on 1st Street between Alder and Main Street in Walla Walla. Proceeds from the party will benefit local people undergoing cancer treatment.

Kirkman House Museum Victorian Ball
The Kirkman House Museum, as a part of the Walla Walla Sesquicentennial Celebration, is hosting a Victorian-themed ball on Saturday, September 22, 6pm, at the Walla Walla Armory. Guests are encouraged to dress in Victorian style clothing. Live music will be performed by the New Columbia Cotillion Band. Dance Master, Mitchell Frey will be calling dances at the event. Participants are invited to a historic dance workshop prior to the ball, on Saturday from 1-3pm. Tickets for the Ball are $25 per adult and $15 for children under 18 years of age. Tickets may be purchased at the Kirkman House Musem at 214 N. Colville in Walla Walla or by calling them at 509-529-4373. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the Ball.

Canoe Ridge Harvest Party
Canoe Ridge Vineyard is hosting a Harvest Party Friday, September 21st. The celebration starts at 5:30pm and is open to the public. Canoe Ridge has just recently re-opened their winery. Seattle-based Precept purchase Canoe ridge Vineyard in 2011. The tasting room has not been open for the last two years. The tasting room is located at 1102 W. Cherry Street in Walla Walla. Wines from Canoe ridge and Foundry Vineyards will be poured and Andrae's Kitchen will be on site with a variety of food entrees. There will displays of local art and live music will be performed. No cover fee will be charged.
