Muddy Frogwater Country Classic Festival 2012


The Muddy Frogwater Country Classic Festival kicks off Friday, August 17th through Sunday August 19th in Milton-Freewater. The Talent of the Valley Competition begins Friday at 11:30am and goes through 6pm. The top ten finalists will be announced Saturday evening at 5:30pm. Talent of the Valley Finals is Sunday, 12:30-3pm. All weekend long the event will have craft and concession booths, Kid Zone, Food Court, and games, plus a Harvest Time Fine Arts Show. There will be a parade Saturday morning and live bands on Friday and Saturday evening. Shakespeare Comes to Calamity Creek

The Little Theatre of Walla Walla is performing Shakespeare Comes to Calamity Creek, August 10-19.
This play is a musical comedy set to a stage of an old western mining town. The story line begins with a troupe of actors who arrive in Calamity Creek determined to bring culture to the locals. Add in some stranded dancers, a Texas Ranger, some striking gold miners and a notorious crook and the stage is set for a wild musical bonanza.  The performances are August 10, 11, 12, and 17, 18, 19. The play starts at 8pm in the evenings and 2pm on Sunday matinees. Festival seating tickets are $12. each and can be purchased on line at ltw.org or one hour before the show. The Little Theatre of Walla Walla is located at 1130 Sumach in Walla Walla.

I Love Cheerleading Camp

Boys and girls in grades K-5 are invited to join in the fun at the I Love Cheerleading Camp, August 14 and 16. The camp is sponsored by Parks & Recreation and the Walla Walla High School Cheerleaders. The camp will teach the basics of chearleading. The kids will have the chance to jump, kick, learn chants, voice control, plus sportsmanship and crowd interaction. The camp hours are 9:30am to 11:30am. The fee for the camp is $40. per child.
