Winn Homestead Events
Nestled at the base of the Blue Mountains, the Winn Homestead is a beautiful spot to celebrate your special event. The Homestead offers a country setting with 2 acres of lawn, an outdoor space to accommodate 300 guests, off street parking for 100 automobiles, a bridal suite and grooms cabin. The large barn on the estate was built in the late 1800's. It is on the National Register of Historic Places. The owners are happy to give a tour of the Homestead with prior notice. Father and Daughter Valentine Ball
Fathers and daughters are invited to celebrate Valentines Day early with a Father and Daughter Valentine Ball on February 4th. Girls of all ages may bring any special adult male (dad, grandpa, uncle, or family friend). There will be professional photography provided from 6-7pm. The ball begins at 7pm and goes until 8:30pm. There will be dancing, games, and the opportunity to win some prizes. The Ball is being held at Garrison Middle School in Walla Walla. The fee to attend is $11 and covers both dad and daughter. The Four Tenors at Power House Theatre
The Four Tenors are coming to Walla Walla to perform at the Power House Theatre February 10-26. The Four Tenors perform a variety of Pop, Country, Rock, Broadway, and Classical music. In 2011 the Four Tenors received rave reviews from their over 100 performances. The quartet is directed by Sunny Thompson, the star of Forever Blonde.

Walla Walla Dance Company Presents The Adventures of Alice
The Walla Walla Dance Company will be performing The Adventures of Alice on January 28th. The production is a delightful twist on a classic tale featuring over 100 local dancers from age 3-20. The Adventures of Alice is Choreographed by Nancy Wells, Jennifer Clark, and Justine Clark. Tickets can be purchased at Earthlight Books in Walla Walla. Tickets for Seniors/Students are $10, General is $12, and Reserved tickets are $15. The performance starts at 7:30pm at Cordiner Hall.

Banff Film Festival Tour at Whitman
The Banff Film Festival will be in Walla Walla at Whitman College tonight, January 24th. The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour brings Banff to audiences around the globe. Each year, the films travel to 32 countries reaching more than 245,000 people at over 635 screenings. The Banff World Tour team chooses about 25 films that feature a range of styles and themes, including climbing, skiing, kayaking, biking, adventure, culture and the environment.
The festival will be held on the Whitman Campus at Cordiner Hall. Doors will open at 6:30pm and the program starts at 7pm. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Whitman book store and the Outdoor Program Rental Shop in the Reid Campus Center building at the corner of Park St. and Boyer Ave. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 17 and under, and free for Whitman faculty, staff, and students with valid ID
During Intermission there will be a raffle drawing for gift certificates and merchandise from local merchants.

Bene Vint Wine Auction & Night of Entertainment
Bene Vint Wine Auction and Night of of Entertainment is an evening of fabulous live music, wonderful wine, delectable desserts, and savory cheese - all while supporting Camp Fire USA that serves Walla Walla's children. Through out the evening they will be auctioning off some enticing items, such as wines from Walla Walla's renowned wineries (Leonetti, L'Ecole No 41, Doubleback, and many others), as well as fun-filled packages (cheese tasting at Monteillet Fromagerie, a stay at The Inn at Blackberry Creek, tap dance lessons, a stay at a Hawaiian vacation home, wine tasting at Glencorrie Winery, and much more).
As an additional perk, on the evening of the event, participating restaurants will provide a "buy one meal at full price, and get the second meal (of equal or lesser value) half off" discount when a BeneVint ticket is shown to restaurant staff. Participating restaurants include Backstage Bistro, Green Spoon, and T. Maccarone's.
Bene Vint is Saturday, January 28 from 7:30-10pm. Tickets are $25. each and can be purchased at the Camp Fire USA office at 414 S Park Street in Walla Walla, Charles Smith Wines, or Backstage Bistro.
Camp Fire USA, Walla Walla is a community based nonprofit organization with a mission to build caring and confident youth and future leaders. Their programs are available every day after school and all summer long.

Snow Day Camp for Kids
With the icy cold weather we are having, school is closed for the kids today. The Walla Walla YMCA is offer a Snow Day Camp to entertain the kids. Kids are invited to dome down to the Y and participate in fun activities for all ages. This camp provides a safe supervised environment where kids can learn new activities while having a great time. Dueling Piano's at Red Monkey Lounge
Back by popular demand TheRed Monkey Lounge in Walla Walla brings the Las Vegas Dueling Piano Act. Each customized show is the combined musical effort of two extremely talented piano performers presenting an amazing quality of entertainment. Their performance is hilarious, high-energy fun-filled with audience interaction. The shows will be January 20 and 21st. Friday's performance is from 9pm to midnight. Day 365: The Den Pizzeria
The Den Pizzeria has been popular stop for those who like fresh made pizza with options for meat, gluten free, or vegan pizza. The Pizzeria also serves specialty pizzas such as BBQ, Artichoke, and Buffalo Chicken. The shop also serves fresh cinnamon rolls, muffins, bagels and a variety of coffees and espresso's.
The Den Pizzeria is open week days 7am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 8pm. It is located at 615 S College Avenue in College Place. The Nest Gift Shop is located inside the Pizzeria. There you will find locally hand crafted wares.

Day 364: Shrine Fish Fry
The Milton-Freewater Shrine Club is hosting a Fish Fry Fundraiser on January 21st. They will be serving a Halibut and Salmon dinner with potato salad, green salad, baked beans, and garlic bread. After dinner there will be a dessert auction with a nice variety of desserts to choose from. Proceeds from the event benefit the Masonic Lodge including Eastern Star and Shriners. The dinner will run from 5:30-7pm at the Masonic Hall on 2nd Street in Milton-Freewater. Tickets can be purchased by calling Leland Fager at 541-938-3940 or can be bought at the door while tickets are available. Tickets are $15. each.

Day 363: Gustiamo – Blues & Brews Tasting Event
Salumiere Cesario is bringing back their Gustiamo events. Gustiamo translated means "let's taste together."
The first event on January 26th will be a paired tasting of stout and porter beers with a variety of blue cheeses. The Blues and Brews event will be from 7-9 that evening. The cost is $25 per person or $30 at the door. There is a limit of 30 people to attend. The event will be held at the Salumiere Cesario shop located at 20 N Second Street in Walla Walla. Day 362: Walla Walla Winter Chamber Music Festival
The Walla Walla Winter Chamber Music Festival presents it's first annual Winter Music Festival, January 12th-15. The Festival has partnered with six venues throughout the Walla Walla Valley to bring classical chamber music to a broad audience. On January 12th there will be a free children's concert at the Walla Walla Armory at 4:30pm. Performers will be rehearsing the Friday the 13, 10am-noon at the Marcus Whitman Hotel and Saturday, the 14th at Backstage Bistro. The public is encouraged to come listen. The Tasting Music Series begins January 13th at Charles Smith Wines and January 14th at Foundry Vineyards. Both concerts start at 6pm and have a ticket fee of $15 to attend. Enjoy the acclaimed PROJECT Trio, of Brooklyn, New York. They are cclassically trained, but well versed in jazz, hip-hop, rock, and folk music.

Day 361: Our Daily Bread
Enjoy fresh baked breads and cinnamon rolls baked from scratch at Our Daily Bread in Milton-Freewater. Our Daily Bread is located at 311 S Main Street. They bake five different kinds of bread, dinner rolls, and pastries. Their most popular baked item is their delicious cinnamon rolls. On Fridays and Saturdays the bakery bakes home made pies. Our Daily Bread is open Tuesday-Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 9am-3pm.

Day 360: 38th Annual Balloon Stampede Poster Contest
Each year the Walla Walla Valley Chamber of commerce requests designs for the official Balloon Stampede poster. This years theme is Splendor in the Sky. It is in reference to the beauty of the balloons gracing the skies over the Walla Walla Valley for the weekend. This will be the 38th annual Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce BalloonStampede. It will be held at the Walla Walla County Fairgrounds on May 11-13, 2012. Design entrees for the posters can be any form of artwork, such as drawings, paintings, photographs, and graphic design. All designs must have the official title, Walla Walla Balloon Stampede presented by Gesa Credit Union, the event dates, and that it is the 38th Annual Balloon Stampede. The last day to submit artwork is January 20,2012 at the Chamber office, 29 E Sumach St., Walla Walla. For more information call 509-525-0850.

Day 359: Walla Walla Jazzercise Open House
Jazzercise in Walla Walla is having an open house January 7-9. This is a great time to try out a class. The Jazzercise workout program combines jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga and kickboxing movements into one 60-minute total body workout. Each workout blends dance aerobics with muscle toning and stretching movements, all choreographed to today’s hottest music, including Top 40, jazz, country, funk, rock, blues and hip hop. Saturday classes are 7:30am and 9am, Sunday is 9am and 4:30pm, and Monday is 9am, 4:30pm and 5:35pm. This month there is a promotion for those who join the program. No joining fee adn the rest of January is free with a 12 month commitment. I went over the holiday and had a great time.

Day 358: Adult Vollyball
The Walla Walla YMCA is offering vollyball in January for adults on Monday and Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30 in the evening. This is for anyone who has a desire to play a challenging game with other members and share a laugh or two. No experience is required. All skill levels are welcome.
