Kyla Greiner left the big city because she longed for the small town and headed back to her home town, Walla Walla. The Country Store Consignment and Antique Mall is quite an interesting place. Throughout the store you can find just about anything. From clothing, to antique furniture, jewelry, art, etc. The prices are  reasonable. Each person has their own individual “store.” A small section where they decorate and show off their crafts and wares. It’s the only place in town where you can find such a variety of items.

Currently there are 45 vendors on the waiting list for the Country Store. Kyla handles all aspects of the business transactions. She greets every customer, provides a smooth buying experience, then pays out to the vendors once of month.

Day 79: Walla Walla Village Winery Open Mic Night

Walla Walla Village Winery is located at 107 S 3rd Avenue in Walla Walla. Each Thursday evening from 7pm – 10pm they host an open mic with some great musical talent.

Walla Walla Village Winery currently offers up three wine offerings. The 2005 Cabernet Franc has rich flavors of dark chocolate, fig cookies and ripe currants. The Bordello Red is a cabernet Sauvignon blend that pairs well with a Puttanesca pasta dish, flat bread pizza, or a smoked Beef Brisket. The 2005 Merlot is a medium bodied Merlot that has a boldness of dark baking chocolate while bringing a long finish of licorice and old fashioned sarsaparilla.

The winery boasts a beautiful historic bar that has been restored. They think it may have come out of a Brothel that was in the area in the late 1800’s – early 1900’s. At the winery you can find a selection of guitar, banjo and ukulele strings. Ukulele’s and hand made tongue drums are sold there as well. Day 76: Berney's Tacos

Berney’s Taco’s serves unique Mexican food that you would not typically find in any other local Mexican restaurant. One of their well known dishes is Chile Rellonos. They are made with Pasilla Peppers which are stuffed with cheese and battered with egg and fried. They are served with sour cream and a special tomato sauce. Rice and beans and a lettuce salsa salad is served along side of it.

Every customer who stops into Berney’s is warmly greeted and served with a basket of tortilla chips. There is a salsa bar with a variety of salsa’s to choose from. One of my favorite dishes is their Enfrijoladas, for $5.50. This is made from corn tortillas which are dipped in refried bean sauce, filled with beef, chicken, or cheese, and covered with more bean sauce, sour cream, Mexican cheese, and served with rice, beans and a salsa lettuce salad.
